Nachdenken über unsere Umwelt, unsere Lebensgrundlagen und über unsere Zukunft ist die Aufgabe des Umweltbundesamtes und liegt auch in der Verantwortung jeden mündigen Bürgers.
Entlang der Achse von Bahnhofsvorplatz zum Umweltbundesamtes sind in lockeren Abständen insgesamt etwa 14 Stelen aufgestellt, die bereits im Stadtzentrum auf die Existenz des UBA hinweisen. Die Stelen setzen sich aus einer schlanken geometrischen Basis und einem Kopf, aus dem sich eine Denkblase wölbt, zusammen. Sie sind aus Aluminiumsandguss gefertigt und etwa 4-5m hoch. In den Blasen leuchten Neonzeichen, die langsam, einem Atmen gleich, auf und abdimmen.
Die Zeichen sprechen Themen an, die im UBA erörtert und mit den Bürgern kommuniziert werden: Energie, Wasser, Sonne, Technik, Kinder, Natur, Welt . . . Durch das Auf- und Abdimmen erscheinen die Inhalte in immer neuen Konstellationen.

Thinking about our environment, our livelihoods and our future is the task of the Federal Environment Agency and is also the responsibility of every responsible citizen.
Along the axis from the station forecourt to the Federal Environment Agency, a total of about 14 stelae have been erected at loose intervals, already pointing out the existence of the UBA in the city centre. The steles consist of a slender geometric base and a head from which a thought bubble arches. They are made of cast aluminium sand and are about 4-5m high. Neon signs glow in the bubbles, slowly dimming up and down like breathing.
The signs address topics that are discussed at UBA and communicated with citizens: Energy, Water, Sun, Technology, Children, Nature, World . . . By dimming up and down, the contents appear in ever new constellations.
